We recently asked members, friends, and visitors to tell us something about "what FBCB means to me." Here are a few of the things they said . . .

FBCB is a community which emphasizes respect and love for all. I don't have to feel like I compromise my integrity to worship here.
           -- A Catholic Member
FBCB means to me. . . a place where I enjoy interesting and uplifting sermons. A place with fun social events.
FBCB is loving and inclusive. It has been enriched and blessed by the presence and talents of those formerly excluded from organized religion. Its time of prayer promotes thanksgiving for blessings and concern for those with problems or having difficulties.
-- ECL, a long-time member in her 70s, who is thankful for continuing opportunities for growth
The people in church show us love and make us feel warm, even though we are deaf. FBCB helps us keep up with our faith.

FBCB means to me . . . Good fellowship. Good guardianship.
I like the stories in Sunday School. I like playing with the steam shovel and the dump truck in class. I like my friend and the cookies.
           -- Four Year Old Boy
FBCB means to me . . . many memories. When I joined the church over 50 years ago, I felt old because only graduate students were in my age range. Now that I am old, it is the church that my parents attended, the church where my younger brother was married, where I was married, and the place where my other brother met his wife. I remember when my friends began to retire from work and move away to be with family members. There have been many farewells.
            --A longtime older member
For many years, FBCB has meant a lot of things to me. But one of the most important, and one that we are not likely to find in very many churches yet, is that my life-partner Rita and I are welcomed, affirmed, and celebrated here, individually and as a couple, for all of who we are. Praise God!
            --Susan
